It never once occurred to Tony he was being fooled, it seemed to him like a normal day at work, Pepper seemed particularly jubilant about something; he wouldn't pry, but perhaps later he'd chase out of her whatever it was making her so pleased. One might think it would be awkward, working so closely after having been together for so long, especially considering Tony was now married -to a man no less- but it wasn't, the two had been friends long before they'd ever been lovers. At work they were back to the same stand by, she would chase and hassle him, and he'd do whatever it was she told him.. eventually. He didn't have very much planned for that day, a ten o'clock meeting that ran barely a minute over, and apparently a German reschedule he was due at, he felt somehow that this meeting wouldn't run nearly as smoothly. Last minute meetings usually meant they were either dissatisfied or wanted to bump up a dead line, neither of which Tony was willing to hear out but when Pepper said they had to go he certainly wouldn't argue with her.
When they finally reached the roof, Tony's eyes widened; this was a trap- of sorts, anyways. Steve was there waiting for him, handsome as ever, bright eyed, smiling sweetly. And Tony couldn't help but smile himself, "This is a surprise alright.. you two, I'll be talking to.. both of you about this, you and Pepper, conspiring together, I don't like it." He teased, grinning ear to ear as he stepped forward, hands slipped into his pockets, in a few strides he was standing directly in front of Steve, and he leaned up on tip toe to kiss his chin, "If I didn't know better I'd think this picnic was for me," He said lowly, lightly, his grin becoming a gentle smile as he just about morphed into Steve's side. "Steven Grant Rogers if you spoil me anymore I'll be no good to anybody." His hand slipped into Steve's then, squeezed it gently.
